Who We Are?

Thanaweya Amma, as the main gateway to colleges in Egypt, has created a narrow and restrictive path that emphasizes grades. This system limits creativity and overlooks the essential skills students need to succeed in 21st century —skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability.

At Guidr, we believe that education is more than just passing exams. We are strong advocates for extracurricular activities, which play a key role in fostering personal growth, leadership, and the practical skills needed to compete globally.

Based on our research, we observed that the real challenge in Egypt isn’t a lack of talent; it’s a lack of awareness and support. Many students don’t understand the importance of developing these skills, and those who do often struggle to find the resources they need.

This is where Guidr makes a difference. We provide students with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities to grow beyond academics and compete confidently on the global stage.

We believe in the potential of Egypt’s youth and are committed to guide them.

Our Mission

We aspire to reach every Egyptian student, especially those in rural areas, and raise their awareness about the gap and the importance of extracurricular activities.

Awareness alone is not enough; we believe that every student needs a supportive community. Therefore, we aspire to connect students and provide the necessary support to help them reach their full potential

We are passionate about creating our own resources and guides. Moreover, we strive to gather all the necessary resources in one place and make them freely accessible to everyone

Our Founder

Hey there, my name is Mohamed Wael, and I’m the founder and developer of Guidr.

Throughout high school, with every new step I took, I kept asking myself, “Why didn’t I know this earlier?” This question echoed in my mind every time I learned something new—whether it was understanding what a summer program is or figuring out the admissions process.

Growing up in rural Egypt, just having access to good school felt like enough. But I was lucky to stumble upon a word that changed my life: scholarships. That discovery opened doors I didn’t even know existed. Yet, as I navigated high school, I kept asking myself the same question over and over: “Why didn’t I know this earlier?”

Now, I’m channeling that question into action. I created Guidr with a mission: to help every student who wasn’t as lucky as I was to discover the power of education and opportunities. Guidr exists to ensure no student has to wonder, “Why didn’t I know this earlier?” ever again.

I’ve taken many steps toward this mission—starting with small circles, like my sister, then my family, and eventually my local community. Now, I’m ready to expand my work to a larger community and make an even bigger impact.

Through Guidr.website, we are dedicated to designing and building resources and e-books to guide you for free in every aspect of high school, from the application process to career planning—all for free.

There are countless competitions, summer programs, and clubs out there. At Guidr, we are working to gather all this information into comprehensive databases, available to you for free
