How to participate

Judging Criteria
Applications are evaluated based on the relevance to the MAB Programme, contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the potential impact of the research.

Eligibility
Applicants must be 35 years old or younger at the application deadline. They should be conducting or planning research within biosphere reserves and have their application endorsed by their country's MAB National Committee or UNESCO National Commission.
Rounds
It is a one-step grant application process, where applicants submit a research proposal through their country’s MAB National Committee or UNESCO National Commission. The selected proposals are then reviewed by UNESCO for final decision and funding allocation.
Prizes
Each award provides up to $5,000 USD to support research projects.
