Open to individuals, civil society organizations, grassroots movements, youth groups, creatives, and other non-governmental actors worldwide who have implemented impactful initiatives aligned with the SDGs.

How to participate

Participants can apply or be nominated through the official application portal. The process involves submitting detailed information about the initiative or individual, including objectives, impact, and relevance to the SDGs.

Judging Criteria

Impact: Tangible and measurable improvements in people's lives and progress toward the
Innovation: Novel approaches and creative solutions addressing current
Scalability: Potential for replication or expansion to amplify impact.

Eligibility

Initiatives must have demonstrated tangible results within the last three years. Projects in the conceptual phase are not eligible. Efforts led by UN entities or national governments are considered only for honorable mentions.

Rounds

Submissions are reviewed by a technical panel and a high-level jury. Finalists are selected for each category and invited to an induction program. Winners are announced at the UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony.
